This was a last minute round set up with some co-workers. I got a message a few days ago asking if I’m available on Sunday and I was available since it’s a public holiday weekend. I usually block out public holiday weekends because many times we travel somewhere with the family and we were going to travel this weekend but ended up staying home. I did not play golf on Friday though so spend the holiday with family and played golf on Sat and Sun.
Lakeside is a 54 hole golf course owned by Samsung. It has 3×18 hole courses – West, East, South. West course is the member course and is the nicest course amongst the 3.
I played like garbage though. I lost a lot of balls. Driver actually wasn’t bad in that the ball stayed in-bounds most of the time but I wasn’t making good contact. I kind of popped one up in one of the earlier holes so I tee’d the ball a little lower but then kept topping it a little bit, etc.
I also hit a lot of second shots, etc. out to hazards and putting wasn’t going so well.
I try to play bogey golf and the course was long so I was not able to get on in 2 (on a par 4). I would get on in 3 and then I could 2 putt usually to get my bogey but I would 3 putt a lot or since I hit one out to a hazard, I had to take a penalty so my bogey would be a double bogey, etc. I had way too many double bogeys this round.
The course is nice since it’s not too far away from Seoul. It’s also nice in that it’s not surrounded by apartment buildings so it feels like you’re further away from Seoul. Overall convenient and would have been great if I just played better.
