We had a 4th player (Justin) but unfortunately he had to cancel because of a personal trip that he had to take to Japan. But Sung Moon An is nice is that they allow 3 person teams so it was nice just having 3. We could also take mulligans if needed, etc.
It’s a difficult course with mostly tight fairways but it’s fun. The grass is western grass so you really need to hit down and take divots.
My putting was on fire! Easily the best putting day I have ever had. I nailed a nice putt on hole 1 to make par and set the tone for the rest of the day. A few holes later, I drained a super long putt and easily the longest putt that I have ever made in my life. I was draining pretty much all of the shorter putts as well that are usually 50/50 for me.
Since my putting was going so well and I really eliminated 3 putts, I was almost like a pro that always either 1 putts or 2 putts at worst…so this really meant that I was getting a lot more pars and bogeys than my usually bogey and double bogeys. It was a nice day overall and a rare day that I left the golf course happy with how I played.
If there is an area to work on it is my driver distance. I was fairly accurate with the driver but distance was mostly lacking. I was a good 30 yards or so short of my playing partner (who hit fairly long anyway). I would estimate most of my drives being in the 200 yard or so range rather than the 220-240 that I’d like to see. But I was mostly accurate so that’s good at least.]
Of course we had lunch at Fioretto, the Italian restaurant afterwards. It was pretty good overall as usual. I think the standout items are the caesar salad, carbonara pasta, diavola pizza, and lamb chops. I usually get the fritto misto de mare but I think I’ll skip this one in the future. Not bad but not that good either. The salumi platter was also something that I usually got but I skipped it this time as it’s a bit overpriced for what you get.
