Tee Time: 12:34
Players: Steven, HS, Jy
This was my first time playing at The Heaven. I played a few rounds at this course back when it was called “Island CC”. This course tends to be a bit polarizing as I have some co-workers who hate this course and some friends who like it.
Overall, I like the course. Most of the fairways are nice and forgiving but there are some pretty water hazards and some ocean views.
The clubhouse seems to have been renovated since the last time I was here and they finished building out the resort so it looks nice.
The bad part is that they have lights so they have tee times all morning until night. This usually means that the greens are all beat up and terrible but the greens were ok here. The bunkers weren’t in the best condition though. The worst were the tee boxes though as most of them were on mats (not just the par 3s but pretty much every hole). I don’t mind teeing off on mats that much but most people I know really don’t like this.
The caddie was ok but not great. She didn’t really want to give us any mulligans despite being backed up in front of us. Oh well, not the worst though.
Price wise it is not cheap and is on par with the higher end public golf courses in Korea. We paid 290k green fees per person on a Sunday afternoon in November so that’s a bit high. Caddie fee was also 170k which is on the high end.
We had a quick lunch before the round but it looked like before noon they only have a buffet. It was 38k per person for the buffet. The buffet was decent though but some other golf courses such as Club 72 Haneul had a free buffet last year and this year they charge 10k for the buffet.
I’m not sure I’ll be back simply because of the quality of caddie, mats on the tee boxes, and cost. This place should be more like 230k rather than 290k.
