7/14/2026 – Wente (Livermore, CA)

Tee Time: 7:41

Players: Jon, Jy

My friend Stephen was supposed to join us but he hurt his back and could barely even get out of bed let alone swing a golf club so he canceled on us. Wente is good with allowing 3 person teams though so we just played as a threesome. This is a winery course so there are vineyards everywhere. The vineyards are considered hazards. You are free to go in and get your ball but you shouldn’t hit from within the vineyards.

It was my first time playing with Jon in many years. We played at Half Moon Bay 5 years ago with Stephen but interestingly at that round, it was Jon who had hurt his back and couldn’t play. Jon actually did play that day but he was taking short half swings all day, etc.

It was hot. The sun was hot. But the course is nice and peaceful. Driving the cart up “Lombard Street” was a lot of fun.

I played well so that was nice.

We had lunch in the clubhouse grill after the round and the food was pretty good. I had the ribs.

The course is a little on the expensive side but because of that, it’s less crowded. We finish the round in less than 4 hours. The group in front of us were a foursome but they played quickly so we rarely had to wait (and if we did it was usually <5 min).
