Julie bid on an auction for a round at Twin Oaks and won so she used her voucher to treat us to a round! What a great friend right?
It was another hot day! We came to the course early to warm up at the putting green but the green was pretty crowded with juniors (maybe there was a camp?).
The starter who also helps with golf carts was a funny guy.
The course itself is in good condition and fun to play. There was the occasional brown spot but that’s to be expected in this kind of heat.
The team in front of us were 5 people but only 4 sets of clubs so it seemed that 1 player was a spectator. However, in most of the holes, we saw 5 people tee off and 5 people playing so that was kind of odd I guess. I don’t generally get into other people’s business and the course was backed up so it probably didn’t really make a difference in terms of pace of play but I guess there’s the principle since they likely didn’t pay for the 5th player to play.
In any case, we sent off a quick message to the management team and they sent a marshal out and took care of it. Maybe the marshal told them that we’re friends with the owner of the golf course because after the round, one of the guys came over and apologized profusely, etc. I told him it’s ok…
After the round, we went up to Irvine and had all you can eat korean BBQ + sushi.
