Tee Time: 11:52
Players: Jason, Jin, Matt
My friend Jason was in town from the UK on his honeymoon so we had to play a round together. This was my first time playing with Jason and Matt and Jason is probably the best amateur golfer I have ever played with. He was driving the ball 300 yards so really a monster driver. The rest of his game was solid as well. It was almost like playing with a pro. He probably should have been playing off the back tees because there was one hole where he drove the green (on a par 4) and he was in the back fringe of the green.
Cool dude and was a lot of fun to play with. He even gave me a few tips. He reminded me of 2 issues that I need to work on: 1) grip – my right hand is too far under (too strong) so need to bring my right index finger over to the right and right thumb to the left. 2) I have a tendency to close the club face at address rather than start neutral.
These are both bad habits that have come from years of slicing the ball too much so a stronger grip and starting closed formed over the years to help address that slice. But I don’t slice much anymore so I need to work on this.
I played ok but my irons were a little weird and my putter was terrible. I forgot to focus on tempo and pause a little bit on the backswing of my putter so it was just bad overall.
But it was a great round and hope to play with Jason again soon!
Matt is a local friend and we played for the first time. He hits pretty long and was fun!
