6/1/2022 – Navy Course in Cypress, CA

Tee Time: 9:18am

Players: Trent, Julie, Jy

We played the Destroyer course at the Navy Course in Cypress. This is a fun course with relatively wide fairways so pretty beginner friendly. I think it’s run by the Navy so there are some discounts if you are active duty or a veteran, etc. We payed the public price which wasn’t too bad (around $50? iirc).

The course fairways and greens are maintained fairly well. The only complaint would be that the lakes are basically empty. The starter mentioned something about how they were filled with well water but the well dried up so they would need to drill much deeper to get water and there’s no budget for that so the lakes and ponds are all dry. These count as free drops if your ball goes in there. I’m not sure why that’s the case though because if there was water and your ball went there you would just lose your ball in the water but oh well.

Julie is an ex-UCLA college golfer so she was amazing to watch. She hit off the blue tees and outdrove both guys, etc. Of course her mid and short game were great too. Wow…

Anyway, fun course if you’re in the area!
