Sagewood is still my favorite public country club in Korea. The clubhouse is so nice and modern and open and the course itself is well maintained.
Because of the caddie shortage in Korea, Sagewood offers the ability to play with no caddie and I take them up on this every time. It’s just so nice playing without a caddie in Korea because there’s no need to ask to take a mulligan, etc. As long as you are keeping up with the group in front of you and the group behind you isn’t waiting for you, you are good to go.
The weather was absolutely beautiful and wonderful. It can be a bit hit and miss this time of year as some days do get very cold. But the weather was fine and it was just perfect.
Sagewood is also a high class establishment in that in the past they allowed me to cancel the night before due to rain in the forecast the next morning. This time they also allowed us to play in a group of 3 instead of 4 people with no extra charge! These may be obvious in other countries but in Korea, this is the exception, not the norm!
The food in the clubhouse was also pretty good. I have only played in the morning so I have had their American breakfast many times but this was my first time having lunch. Jy got the seafood pasta and it was really good!
Anyway, my playing partners were experiencing Sagewood for the first time so they were in awe. I hope to continue playing Sagewood many times in the future…I usually play 3 times a year or so.
And finally, bookings at Sagewood are relatively easy because it’s a little further away than most golf courses and it’s a little more expensive that most golf courses. But with no caddie fee, it ends up costing about the same anyway, etc.
