Tee Time: 8:36
Players: Dave, Dave’s dad
Between heat, rain, and travel I actually had no played golf in over a month. I still practiced quite a bit but it is probably one of the longer spells that I have gone without playing golf (in the winter in Korea I don’t play much either but we play when we travel to SEA). In any case, it was nice to be back out on the course.
Dave’s dad is 82 years old and visiting from the US. He’s bee playing golf regularly for almost 50 years so this was a fun opportunity for Dave and his dad to play in Korea for the first time!
His dad is a really good golfer (single digit handicap, etc.). He didn’t play quite as well and up to his level today since this is a new course for him and Korean courses can be notoriously difficult with narrow fairways, etc. But overall, he didn’t have much trouble since he’s really accurate.
The biggest area of deficiency with age was distance. Usually this isn’t a problem but there are a few tee boxes where you need to clear about 180 yards or so to make it to the fairway. He had some issues on these so he lost a ball on one and he barely cleared it on another hole!
Overall, this was a great day on the course and it was a fun time with weather than wasn’t too hot. Since this is my home course, I played well overall. I like how we can play 3 since the pace was ok for Dave’s dad. With 4 players it might have been a little too fast for him so I was glad that Ansung allows 3 players.
