What a difference 2 days can make. 2 days ago at Bear Creek I couldn’t hit driver. I wasn’t even making half decent contact! It was like I’ve never played driver before. It was so bad that in the second half I didn’t even use driver anymore and just hit hybrid off the tee.
But this round was fine..driver came back! It was fading but staying in-bounds so that was great.
Cascadia order of courses are Stone->Tree->Water->Stone…so we played water and then stone. Caddie said that Tree course is the hardest but I don’t know…I think they are all similar difficulty. It’s not an easy course as the fairways are a little narrow, etc.
It was the first time playing Cascadia for my 3 playing partners so they were all very impressed.
Since we had a late round we had lunch before the round. I had the cheeseburger. It was fine but I think I’ll stick to their Korean food next time (curry rice, etc.).
The course conditions were ok. I think maybe it’s just the location or something but there are a lot of bald spots on and near the greens. Last time there were lots of weeds in the fairways but they cleaned that up so that was nice. The bunkers are nice with soft sand. They supposedly bring in the sand in from overseas so it’s special high quality sand…but this summer has been exceptionally hot so most golf courses in Korea have had issues with maintenance so I would not fault Cascadia on this.
The pro shop is nice and very high end mostly featuring Travis Mathews and a few other high end brands. Everything is sold at MSRP and I haven’t seen any sale sections. They have a few Cascadia branded merchandise such as hats.
