One of my co-workers flaked out so the 3 of us played. I am pretty sure they charged us for 4 players anyway so oh well. At least the good news is that the 4 of us all work together so we all understand when an urgent work issues comes up so it was all good.
It was cold, wet, and windy so not the best combination out there. It had rained the day before so the ground was still wet. There is a cold spell going around so it was cold…probably in the 40s and 50s. But there was also tropical storm level winds so it was pretty crazy. And to top it all off, it started to rain and then sleet…and even hail! But that was at hole 18 so we just finished up and went home.
I played ok overall. My score was terrible but my driver was staying in-bounds so that was nice. My irons were pretty bad though.
Ocean is a tough course because it’s western grass and it’s cut down a lot so you really need to hit down on your ball to get it to compress. Of course if you don’t hit it perfectly, you’ll just hit it fat.
Greens were dog slow because they were wet and the greens are already pretty slow here.
In any case, it was a fun day out! Ocean is still my favorite amongst Lake and Classic but personally I like haneul more than Ocean. Haneul is a little shorter but I like the more private clubhouse and course. Ocean is just too busy in the clubhouse since it is shared with Lake and Classic. I had to wait in line to pay at the end which I’ve pretty much never had to do at any golf course in Korea.
