This was an awesome round. So thankful to Myunsoo who has membership. Whistling Rock is one of the top golf courses in Korea and definitely one on my bucket list that I was finally able to cross off! They only have around 300 members so tee times are easy to book for members and they are generally empty (especially during the week but even on weekends). Tee times are 9 minutes apart so you rarely see other teams. Service is excellent. When we had lunch before the meal, the even brought out custom chopsticks and a spoon for Myunsoo since he’s the member!
I didn’t play as well as yesterday but I played well when it counted.
I even got 2 birdies! It was crazy as I almost never have rounds with more than 1 birdie. My first birdie was pretty legit on a par 3 where I hit the ball pretty close to the hole and made a nice putt. My putter was pretty good all day.
My second birdie was more luck in that I hit a drive but hooked it left on a par 4. But it bounced on something (rock?) and landed on the cart path and rolled down near the green. I chipped it near the hole and putting in for my second birdie of the day.
We played a game (school) for money and I was the big winner after hole 15 so I was seed 1 for our tournament on holes 16-18. 4th place (Kyle) beat 3rd place (Myunsoo) to advance to hole 17 where he played (Lionel) and beat Lionel. Final hole 18 was me vs Kyle and it was a par 3. I made a good iron shot near the hole and easy 2 putt for par. Kyle hit one in the bunker and bogeyed so I was the winner take all!
Of course these things are mostly just for fun. I paid the caddie fee, etc.
But it was my first time winning any of these things. I didn’t play as well as yesterday but made some good shots when I needed to.
