Asiana is a notoriously difficult course in Korea. It is beautiful though with lots of small undulations and some hills. It looks very dreamy with the little mounds going up and down throughout the course. We played the East course which is the more difficult of the 2 courses here.
Most holes are difficult but hole #4 was exceptionally difficult. The green is not huge and is up on a hill so if you aren’t good with your short game, it’s easy to get into an endless cycle of hitting from one side to the other. Apparently a professional golfer spent 5 strokes in a tournament to get the ball up on the green.
Another story is that former Korean President Chun Doo-Hwan played here back in the day and he got so fed up that he quit playing mid round to leave the golf course.
But overall I had a lot of fun here. Don’t look at your score too much and just play and enjoy yourself. There is even one hole where the cart and you go up in a small tram. You sit on these chairs and admire the scenery as you go up to from hole #7 to hole #8.
This is a private club so reservations are difficult to get. One of my friends has membership here but he said that even as a member it’s not easy for him to get bookings here.
