Ansung Benest is starting to feel like my home course. I suppose that’s only logical because it’s the only country club where I am a member.
We played east + south. I have actually only played these 2 courses. There is also a north and west but have not had the opportunity to play there yet. I was supposed to play north/west the day after but the tee time was a little too late so we moved our outing to another golf course.
After last week’s outing at Trinity, Ansung Benest seemed much easier. The fairways are nice and friendly. The grass is Korean grass which means that it’s more of a harder crabgrass type of grass and so it is more forgiving than western grass as well as those really low cut greens at Trinity. Korean grass also turns yellow in the winter so it’s not as pretty.
I played pretty well actually. Although not necessarily reflected in my score, I was driving better than I ever have before. I still sliced a few balls but it was much more rare than normal. I think maybe I’m finally figuring it out? Of course now that my driver was hitting well, I was having slightly more issues than normal with my irons and hybrids but oh well. My putting was also atrocious.
Fun day! The golf course is a little far for my taste but with the lower cost because I’m a member and the ease of booking, I think I’ll keep coming here.
