This was my first time playing this course at Sky 72 and I loved it! Sky 72 is nice because the fairways are pretty wide for Korea standard. Most Korean golf courses are in the moutains so they build fairways in valleys so they tend to be pretty narrow and unforgiving. The bada classic course is nice because it’s expansive. And unlike most courses where you just go from hole to hole, there is actually a section where you take the cart over a small bridge to the other side to play most of your holes.
We had breakfast in a private room. I am not sure how much it costs but I think you can just reserve one so it doesn’t cost extra. We also had a small snack after our round of golf in the same private room.
There is a hut as well that sells taiyaki as well as o-deng fish balls. It’s a nice snack while you wait at a par 3. Unfortunately, the caddie informed me that the hut is going to be closed after today.
From my understanding, Sky 72 is actually operating on land that is owned by Incheon airport. Sky 72 has a lease but the lease ran out at the end of December 2020. Since before then, the 2 parties have been fighting over a new lease. Sky 72 wants similar terms while the airport wants more money. During covid, the golf course has thrived at pretty much 100% full capacity while the airport has been empty.
Unlike most Korean courses, Sky 72 uses western grass. This just means that the grass is a little softer but more importantly the grass is green and stays green much longer. So while most Korean courses turn yellow in the fall, winter, and early spring, Sky 72 will be green for most of that time!
This is a great course and one of my favorites in Korea.
