I played 9 holes at pine course at Oak Valley Country Club. This is a great course with a lot of privacy. It has a good combination of mountains and lakes for a picturesque setting. The grounds are well kept and the greens were just right. There is also a resort and hotel if you want to stay overnight.
The carts are nice and new. The clubhouse is modern and food is decent. Most of the meals are in the range of 18,000-24,000 krw for dishes like fried rice, bibimbap, etc.
The holes can be a little narrow like most Korean resorts but it’s not too bad. The OB boundaries can be tough because there is a road to the side of the course so any ball out there will be out of bounds without much room for error.
But it’s not so hard that beginners should stay away. There are a few tough holes include an island par 3 but this hole was not part of the pine course so I saw it as we rode by on the cart but didn’t play it.
The holes aren’t quite as connected as other golf courses so sometimes you do need to ride more between holes than normal. But the scenery is nice and it is relaxing to take things easy.
The pro shop is downstairs and is fairly large for a country club pro shop. There is a good selection of clothes and gear but I didn’t spend much time in there.
