Sky 72 is a popular golf course in Incheon located next to the airport. It is one of the largest golf courses in Korea with 72 holes available at 4 different courses. I have played at all 4 of the courses and they are all pretty good.
Sky 72 also has a par 3 course called dream dunes. It is near one of the best golf practice facilities in Korea where there is a large driving range, short game practice area, putting greens, etc. There is even a natural grass driving range where you can hit off the ground (not mat). While there are many of these grass ranges in the US and other countries, it is one of only a few such places in Korea. There is also a Titleist fitting center, etc.
Anyway, we headed over to the par 3 course. First you check in at the clubhouse which is the same as the driving range. There is a small restaurant and store in the building as well. Par 3 is prepaid and cost 90k to play 18 holes (you play the 9 holes twice). If you book a tee time for 9 holes, it is only 50k. There is also a cart fee of 10k/person which is a mechanical cart for your golf bags (not the full cart that you sit in and ride).
The course is actually a lot of fun. There are 8 par 3s ranging from around 100 yards up to around 160 yards or so. There is one par 4 which is around 270 yards so it’s a lot of fun to hit your driver.
The weather wasn’t cooperating though. It was drizzling at the start and only got worse as the round went on. After about 8 holes it was raining a little harder and at hole 9 we decided that we’d call it a day if the rain didn’t get better at the end of the hole. By the end of hole 9, the rain only got worse so we called it a day.
The office was nice and when I checked in they said that I can cancel with no penalty (because of rain) before we play and I won’t have to pay anything. They also said that I can play and stop midway and that they would charge 7k krw per hole played. When I went to pay after just playing 9, I thought they would charge me 63k but instead they just charged me the 50k fee for 9 holes so that was nice of them. Cart fee was also cut in half to 5k so overall not a bad deal.
You can book on the website a few week or so in advance. For par 3, it’s pretty much all “join” bookings so you can book up to 4 people (no one else will join you) or if you book for less than 4, others will be able to book with you so you’ll be making some new friends.
It’s great for beginners and lots of fun so I recommend it for a quick par 3 getaway. The mechanical carts are also pretty cool (controlled by a remote control).
