Tee Time: 6:23am
Players: Eunyoung, Gary, Seungjai
This was an early tee time because it’s summer so we wanted to beat the heat. We met in the clubhouse at 5:30am which is pretty much when they opened.
Glennross is owned by the Samsung group and is located next to Everland (an amusement park). The course itself is relatively small since it’s only 9 holes. The area is known for wild peacocks that roam the fairways. We saw a few peacocks as well. Supposedly if you see a peacock, it’s good luck or you’ll get promoted at work, etc.
It’s a 9 hole course but you go through the 9 holes twice for 18 holes. Interestingly enough, the tees are in different locations for each hole and the greens are different so the second time you go through the 9 holes, it feels a little different.
And because it’s only 9 holes, the fairwards tend of be on the wider side (for Korea) and not as many OBs and hazards so the course is fairly good for beginners.
Price wise, it’s the same price as anywhere else. If you think this place will be cheap because it’s a 9 hole you’d be wrong.
The clubhouse and locker room are fairly small. The restaurant is also small. The pro shop is small. So don’t expect to be amazed with these things. I have heard that you can go to the clubhouse restaurant and have coffee even if you are not playing a round so you can admire the scenery, etc. That might be nice if you live in the area.
