Oak Hills is a nice country club in the area of Oak Valley. Oak Valley is a large resort that offers skiing in the winter and golf in the summer. It’s an older country club but well maintained overall. But the greens were in terrible condition though with lots of bumps, etc. The caddie said that the green condition is the biggest complaint that she hears on a daily basis. Her opinion was simply from overuse. She’s probably correct in that they should probably shut down the golf course for a day every week or every 2 weeks and they should aerate, etc. but they probably just never close and have tee times from the crack of dawn, etc.
Oak Valley has 3 different golf courses including Oak Creek (which is public), Oak Hills (private) and Oak Valley (private). I have now played all 3 courses and I would say that Oak Valley is the nicest of the 3 by far.
Since it’s in the mountains, it can get pretty hilly. The course itself is probably of average difficulty in Korea.
There are 2 courses at Oak Hills called Bridge and Hill. Each is 9 holes so you end up playing both. We started with Bridge and ended with Hill. IIRC, hole 9 of Bridge offers are really wide fairway (one of the widest I have ever seen in Korea). Of course I ended up slicing it OB anyway…lol.
Food in the restaurant is fine and reasonably priced.
Overall, a nice country club that I would be happy to come back to anytime. Oak Valley is a little far from Seoul but if you time it right, you can grab dinner at Sweet Oak BBQ which is one of the best American style BBQ restaurants in Korea and run by my friend Gus Flores!
