Shindale is an upscale course located in the Gangwon-do area of Korea. It is roughly 60km or so from Seoul so it’s not too far.
It is a relatively new country club so the facilities are nice and clean and modern.
We had a guy caddie and he was really cool. He is a semi-pro golfer so he had some great tips and such. He also told some interesting stories such as former Korean President Chun Doo Hwan used to play there pretty often before he died.
There are 3 courses – shine, dale, and lake. I have played all 3 but to be honest, they are all roughly the same. I believe lake is the newest of the 3 but it’s also more narrow, etc.
There is sometimes fog and there was fog in the morning. But luckily it wasn’t too bad and after a few holes, the fog was pretty much gone. The fog also wasn’t too think so it was ok. They still had the blinking lights out but you weren’t just hitting into the abyss…
I have played golf with Jimmy in the US a few times but this was his first Korean golf experience so he was excited. It was nice and I think he had a lot of fun.
I met David for the first time and he was a cool guy and very good golfer.
