BRG Danang is a nice course just south of the Danang beach area. There are 2 courses: Norman (designed by Greg Norman) and Nicklaus (designed by Jack Nicklaus). The newer course is the Nicklaus course and most people believe that it’s the nicer course. Almost every hole has a water hazard and water views. It’s also a fairly difficult course with lots of hazards but it’s a lot of fun.
We were not paired up with anyone but a nice guy named Paul was waiting to tee off in front of us and he was alone so he asked if he can join in with us and we were cool with it. He already played the front 9 and we were starting with the back 9 so he asked to join us for 9 holes.
After 9 holes, I guess he liked us because he called into the front office to add another 9 holes to finish up with us. For a 74 year old guy, playing 27 holes is pretty good!
This was an odd day for me in a good way. I got 3 birdies! I have only had 2 birdies in my entire life and I had 3 in one day! I had 2 birdies on par 3s and 1 shot birdie on a par 4! Crazy…
Golf in Danang is not cheap for visitors. We paid around 6m VND which is around $250 for the 2 of us (includes green fees, cart, and individual caddies). We did tip $20 each for the caddies (typical tip is $15 per caddie).
