Sagewood is one of my favorite courses in Korea! It’s a little far since it’s around 120km away but with no traffic it takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes. It’s not really any worse than Ansung Benest in terms of time.
Sagewood is run by Mirae Asset and is one of the more expensive public golf courses in Korea. Saturday morning (prime time) tee times are 400k and Saturday afternoon / Sunday morning tee times are 350k. Cart fee is 120k. Caddie fee is 150k.
However, what I love about Sagewood is that it is one of the few courses in Korea that give you the option to play with no caddie so you can save money on the caddie fee. They give you a remote control for the cart and let you drive the cart yourself. You just keep up with the team in front of you and you’ll be good.
And what I love even more about Sagewood is that they usually allow 2 player teams! This is very rare in Korea as you typically must have a foursome. There is no extra charge, etc.
Since they are a high end public course, their cancellation policy due to rain is also generous. Many golf courses will not let you cancel due to rain unless you go to the course in person to cancel, etc. But Sagewood is good about letting you cancel via phone if it’s raining or if it is pretty certain that it will rain. I have even managed to cancel our tee time the night before since it was raining and expected to continue to rain the next morning.
It’s also a beautiful course. I like dream and vision and hole #5 at Vision is my favorite hole here. You tee off across water and the green is to your left.
Challenge is the 3rd course (27 hole course total) and seems to be a bit more narrow. Sometimes it’s also longer (I recall playing a 180m par 3).
Sagewood also has a hotel / resort if you want to stay the night, etc.
I played pretty well today. My driver was decent so that was nice to see.
