Fun round at Club 72! I haven’t been here in a long time (about a year ago) and at that time they had just re-opened as Club 72 (from the previous Sky 72). At the time, they were just getting re-opened so the clubhouse was a little empty and they didn’t have a pro shop, etc.
Interestingly enough, they still don’t have a pro shop.
I like Ocean course. It’s tough because it’s western grass but the fairways are nice, grass is soft, bunkers are soft, nice views, wide fairways but challenging, etc.
Since we played twilight, we got until hole 15. We should have called it a day but tried to fit in hole 16 so we tee’d off but it was hard to see the ball after that. We got to the green and they have lights on the green so it was ok but we called it a day after that. So we didn’t play holes 17 and 18 even though they had lights. Hole 18 is actually a pretty fun par 5 so it was a little bit of a bummer to miss that.
The weather started to get a bit chilly towards the end but overall the weather was nice and cool and sunny for most of the round.
My driver was pretty good so maybe I’m finally starting to get it. I have shortened my backswing which seems to help a lot. I felt rushed before but I’m able to shorten my backswing while also keeping a nice tempo to set up before my downswing, etc.
