We were supposed to play with a 4th player named Charles but he got stuck at work and flaked out. Luckily, la vie est belle Dunes is a nice course which allows 3 person play so that was nice that we didn’t have to pay for 4 players. In general, it’s customary for the player who flakes to still pay for his share because otherwise, the player will likely get blacklisted from the group for future outings. Sometimes the player who flakes will even throw in like another $100 and say “get some food and drinks on me…sorry!” to stay on the team’s good graces. This guy is a little new to Korean golf so he didn’t do any of these things but oh well. It was work related and we work at the same company for the same boss so I definitely understand how things can get at work sometimes so it’s not a big deal actually and it’s all good.
My short game was on fire! My approach shots were getting right up close to the hole. My putts within 6 feet were all going right in! My approach game was so good that there were many holes where my putt was just conceded. It was crazy how good my short game was. My driver was a little hit and miss but pretty good overall without too many big misses, etc.
The weather was great. It was warm. It was like late summer weather so pretty much perfect!
Dunes course isn’t really a course that I go to very often because I like Old Course much more. I played old a few times this year but this was my first round at Dunes. I plan to play here next week as well though and overall, I was fairly happy with the course. There are some narrow fairways and such but I guess it’s not terrible.
They recently added lights a few months ago so you can play under lights for a few holes if it gets dark. The lights come up from the ground so it’s kind of a cool system.
