Wow, what an awesome experience! Virginia CC is a high end private country club in Long Beach, CA. My friend is a member here so he was able to get us on to play a round.
Prior to the round, we went to the practice range which was an awesome facility. The practice balls were top notch and the grass was in good condition. If I was a member, I would enjoy coming out here to practice every day! There is also a nice putting green, short game area, etc.
As for the round, we just walked up to the tee when we were ready after putting a bit on the practice green and there was nobody else around so we just tee’d off to play! The country club experience here is just awesome. The staff is friendly and the course seemed pretty empty as well.
We played from a combination of tee although it was mostly blue and a few whites. There was one hole where we played off red as well.
Prior to the turn after around hole 6 or so, there was a nice bbq area so we got some tacos and a hot dog burger which was really good!
At the turn, there is a little snack area where you can grab a few snacks and drinks (complimentary!)
Overall, this was one of my favorite rounds in the US and reminded me of the experience I had last fall at Atlanta Country Club but I liked this experience much more.
I hope to be invited back someday in the future!
