This was my first time playing bada at sky 72. I have now played at all 4 courses here…i.e., I have played all 72 holes at this course.
It was a bad air quality day so I was a little concerned but there was a lot of wind and the bad air seemed to get better during our playing time. It did seem to get worse though after our round.
11:11am is my favorite time to play. It is the first round after the early morning rounds so we had no one in front of us! It was great never having to wait for the group in front of us to hit. We played fairly quickly so the group behind us did not have to wait either.
I did fairly well today in that my driver was going straight (so no slicing!). I think I sliced a few but it was nowhere near as bad as usual. My distance was really bad though…I’m a little puzzled why my distance was so poor but I’ll work on that.
Similar to bada classic, you play many of your holes across the bridge on the other island. We started in the “out” course so the cart took us across the bridge to the other side to get started. After our front 9, we had a short 10 minute break and then played again. All in all, we finished in about 4.5 hours which is very fast for Korea golf!
Our caddie was cool and had no problem with mulligans, hitting again if you shank, etc.
I think I still like Haneul course the best since it’s more private and off to the side. But bada and bada classic and ocean are all fine too.
But I don’t think I’ll play here too much. This was my 3rd trip to Sky 72 in the last month and the last 2 trips have been poor because of heavy wind.
